Maternal Home:
We have a maternal home, with a capacity of 20 beds, located in the municipal seat at calle 19% 52 y 56, it is subordinated to the 7 de Diciembre Polyclinic (Director: Dra. Aleane Pérez Sotolongo), it provides care to pregnant women from all over the municipality in addition to those from the Ciénaga de Zapata municipality.
For admission to said institution, the pregnant woman must present some pathology or some risk factor that may bring about a complication during pregnancy, for this the pregnant woman is systematically followed in her CMF by the family doctor in addition to the basic work group made up of its specialists in case of finding any risk factor, the referral is made from the patient's health area after coordination with the Maternal Home and the patient is admitted. Once being in the institution, specialized attention will be provided by Gynecology, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Nutrition, Endocrinology, Social Work as well as follow-up by her Family doctor, always trying to keep the patient in a warm and healthy environment for both she like for her baby.
Among the main pathologies that are entered are, geographical income, excessive weight gains, insufficient weight gains, anemias associated with pregnancy, intrauterine growth restrictions, among others.
