The Afro-Cuban religion has its origins from the slave trade that brought thousands of men and women to the island of Cuba, who brought their religious beliefs, their traditions, and customs and had to adapt to the characteristics of the island, its plants, animals, food etc ...

The current municipality of Jagüey Grande in the 19th century promoted sugar production mainly in Agramonte and Torriente, which has still allowed elements of the cultural heritage of African origin to remain.

Houses temples: They are those that were founded in the XIX century or beginning of the XX century and that maintain their foundation and religious ceremony according to the patron deity. All are in the registry of the heritage of the Cuban nation.
