Civil status Registration
The Registry of Civil Status is a public institution through which the State guarantees the registration of facts and acts related to the civil status of individuals. They are administratively subordinate to the Provincial Directorates of Justice of the local Bodies of the People's Power in their respective territories.

Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Attention to the population: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Provides the following services:
1. Enroll newborns in maternity hospitals before the mother is discharged; submission required:
Identity card of the parents and that the mother's address corresponds to the province where the birth occurs. If this last condition is not met, the registration will be made later in the Civil Registry of the town where the mother resides.
2. Issue certifications based on the seats in any of the registry offices located in the national territory and the denials that result from them. They are classified into:
Abstract.
Literal (they are issued exceptionally).
3. Issue certifications of Legal Capacity of Cubans residing in the national territory to formalize marriage with foreigners. It is a personal process.
It is requested in the place where the registrant works or the promoter resides.
4. Records of rectification of errors or omissions in the registry where the registrant works or the promoter resides. Interested parties must submit to the Registrar:
Identification card, application document, certification stating the error and supporting documents that justify your claim.
5. Records of change, addition, modification or deletion of names and / or surnames. The promoter will provide:

Birth Certificate
Marriage certificate
Birth certificates of children
Criminal Record
Affidavit before a notary public and supporting documents.
Notes: To authorize the change, addition, modification or deletion of names and / or surnames, it will be required that the person proves to be socially known by the names or surnames that they request, or when those that they have make up words with characteristics that are uncommon to the generality of those used socially, or with which facts, objects, animals or things are identified.
If the change, addition, modification or deletion of names and / or surnames is to a minor, both parents must give their authorization.
6. Record of birth registration out of term. The promoter will present:
Identity card, Application document, Negative birth certificate, Sworn Statement before a notary public,
Evidence documents and medical expert report certifying your approximate age.
Marriage registration file out of term. The promoter will present:
Identity card, Application document, Authorized copy of the document by which the act was formalized and any other document or evidence admitted in law and negative marriage certification.
7. Expedited death registration file. The promoter will present:

Death medical certificate, if any
Certificate of the place where the body was buried or cremated
Statement of two witnesses who have seen or found the body or witnessed the death
Negative death certificate and any evidentiary document admitted in law
Affidavit for registration process
It will be requested the presentation of the identity card of the applicant and of the witnesses, according to their case.
Recognition of parental affiliation to children.
It will be presented:
Identity card of the mother and father, Affidavit of both parents before the registrar or notary. In the cases of Cubans residing abroad or foreigners, they must accredit the deed of acknowledgment authorized by a notary public and the document issued by the Directorate of Immigration and Aliens, accrediting the dates of entry and exit from the country of said persons.
Formalization of marriage. The parties will contribute to the registrar:
Identity card, document that proves the marital status, in the case of the woman, a medical certificate if 300 days have not elapsed after the dissolution of the marriage bond, Special Power if it is a proxy, parental authorization in cases of minors of age, before a Notary or Registrar.

Resolution No. 251 of December 1, 2015 of the Minister of Justice Establishes the following terms for the operation and provision of services of the Civil Status Registries:
Registrations:
Birth up to 2 days
Marriage and death 1 day
Marginal notes up to 3 days
2. Notifications to registries and courts:
Resolutions issued up to 3 days
Marginal notes completed up to 5 days
3. Records of:
Correction of error, omission or addition up to 5 days
Change, modification, deletion of names or surnames up to 5 days
Late registration up to 5 days
Registration of religious marriage up to 5 days
Reconstruction or re-registration of seats up to 5 days
4. Formalization of marriage: up to 5 days or according to agreement of the parties
5. Other acts:
Refusal to recognize filiation for up to 2 days
Denial of the name in the registration application form of up to 2 days
Denial of enrollment request up to 2 days
Take statements up to 2 days
6. Issue of certifications from the Registry of Civil Status:
If the entry is from the registry itself and is in SIREC for up to 2 days
If the entry is from the register itself up to 5 days
If the seat is from another registry of the province or outside of this and has connection up to 7 days If the seat is from another registry of the province or outside of this and has no connection until 15 days
